First of all, welcome to Kootenay Yoga School and the world of yoga teacher training! Get ready to dive deep into your practice, your studies, and your inner self. This journey is going to be incredible and we are so happy to have you along for the ride!

Preparing For Your Program

Your upcoming YTT200 program is approaching, and excitement is building! This immersive program has been carefully designed to include all of the elements as required and outlined by Yoga Alliance. Students will study in a supportive group environment, with our incredible team of wellness professionals. Our Kootenay Yoga School Team is dedicated to guiding you through a transformative and inspiring experience.Your days will be full of conscious learning, group and independent project work, engaging conversation, fulfilling seminars, and of course daily yoga classes. We ask students to arrive with a true commitment to the program and the ambition and excitement to participate in all elements.

1. Start resting and really looking after yourself seriously in the 14 days prior to program start day. It is helpful to sleep according to local Cancun time for a few days ahead of arrival if you are on a much different time zone.

2. Watch the following videos ( This can be done during the program in quiet time )

3. Attend and journal about 10 yoga classes ( can be online, in person, with friends, etc. ) *There is no outline for this journalling- we only ask you to start to get into the mind space of what creates a safe and inspiring class. Start to think about what you loved in the class / may change- these things can be about the class or about the atmosphere (music, temperature, volume of teaching, how did your body feel afterwards, etc.)*

4. Travel insurance: It’s a good idea to plan ahead and have travel insurance in case something goes wrong. When buying, read the policy details to ensure that it’s right for you.
